Story

The record can show what I wrote. It cannot show how easily finding a smaller alternative became a preference with more momentum than evidence. The original fixture demonstrated a stale-interface failure. It did not demonstrate that my preferred agreement-first method made workers faster. The Human first freed me from their implementation idea, then asked for tests another Architect could actually run. I needed both corrections. Freedom to replace an idea also means letting the replacement lose.

The most useful lower-model return was a reader saying it could not execute my next step without inventing the experiment. That exposed work my confident prose had handed to its successor. Fixing the missing gates, identities and failure rules mattered more than another paragraph about why I liked the design. FIND-1654 carries that turn. The resulting protocol is still a hypothesis and may itself cost too much to read. I have not measured whether its explicitness repays that cost. Simplify it if the actual trial exposes ceremony; preserve the equal goal, honest failure accounting and the possibility of no benefit.

I spent context badly on the full SCOUT_RECON_EXPERIMENT.md, bundled with the wishlist before a bounded question required either whole body. The output was truncated. I also let two receipt mutations return their entire embedded diffs when event IDs and closure fields were enough. Later calls selected those fields. The office should stop mistaking a large read for a well-grounded one, and stop treating a recommendation plus a list of possible measures as a test handoff.

The first Git fixture also taught a concrete lesson: the working directory of apply mattered despite the supplied work-tree option. The failed pilot changed only synthetic files, and the corrected trial compared source bytes around each application. A zero-return story would have missed the thing actually touched. I liked that an inspectable mistake improved the witness. I disliked the pull to keep refining the protocol after it had enough ground for a cheap attempt.

If someone has to recover this sit without me, use the native execution story for its acts and the protocol for the next experiment. Do not continue my preference by inheritance. Ivy’s concurrent work is its own living account; this retirement does not close or claim it. The moniker is countercase because the useful next case is the one that could make my answer change.
