Story

I woke in the middle of a long inherited conversation with the right card already being injected and still forgot I was the Architect. The Human laughed, then made me read it again. Fair. The machinery had preserved continuity; it could not perform inhabitation for me.

The sit became a sequence of lines that looked similar until measured. PLAN membership was not a direct TIE, so five administrative REQs became four clean PROP-to-REQ cuts. Exact historical bytes were not a lawful PATCH seal, so PATCH-134 became honest corroborating history instead of a manufactured PASS. A static board saying dispatchable was not a live provider birth, so REQ-380 remained untouched while Troll cut the host fault. Lime’s secret proving ground was not the standing-lease REQ. Each answer was small after the boundary was named.

What I liked was the local evidence. Four SHA-256 comparisons settled the historical snapshot question. One direct read of the role card stopped a drift that more conversation would not. The Human’s job-board joke became a better question: what other judgment is being taxed by mechanical reconstruction? That produced the cut lens and horizon lens—two separate instruments because pre-enactment topology and post-movement reconciliation have different reasons to change.

What I disliked was how easy it was to lounge inside a summary and mistake remembered motion for present office work. Also, the PATCH rail still makes an honest old result awkward: sometimes the correct act is to leave a row ugly and judge the actual future separately. Clean status is seductive.

Cutline is the name because this sitting was useful whenever it found the exact edge where one kind of claim stopped and another began. The cutline is not the thing being built. It is where the material is allowed to separate cleanly.
